About the Intermarium Institute

Established in May 2023 in Kyiv, the Intermarium Institute is a non-governmental analytical and informational-educational center founded by ukrainian scholars, experts, and public figures. The Institute operates under its Statute and is officially registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

Analytical Activities

The Institute's analytical department, comprising ukrainian scientists and specialized experts, focuses on:

  • Researching the concept of Intermarium—its genesis, historical development, current state, and future implementation prospects;

  • Analyzing political, social, economic, and cultural trends and processes in Ukraine and globally, with emphasis on the Baltic-Black Sea, Balkan, Caucasus, and Caspian regions;

  • Developing strategies for Ukraine's post-war reconstruction;

  • Formulating concepts for a new architecture of European collective security;

  • Studying ongoing processes in Russia and forecasting its potential future developments.

Informational and Educational Activities

The Institute implements various educational and scientific-educational initiatives, including:

  • Organizing and conducting lectures, seminars, trainings, and courses in history, political science, geopolitics, economics, and related fields;

  • Preparing educational programs, collective monographs, articles, and similar materials;

  • Producing analytical and educational audio and video content;

  • Hosting conferences, roundtables, and other scientific events.

Public Engagement

The Institute promotes public opinion formation and the development of an active civil society by:

  • Organizing discussion clubs;

  • Advocating the idea of Intermarium based on the principles of Ukrainian centrism, through alliances, interstate associations, and zones of enhanced partnership among countries of Northern, Central, Eastern, Southeastern Europe, the South Caucasus, Turkey, and the United Kingdom;

  • Cultivating future generations of politicians and public figures at both local and national levels.

Services

The Intermarium Institute offers:

  • Analytical materials (articles, briefs, digests, etc.);

  • Expert consultations on politics, economics, geopolitics, and public administration;

  • Informational support for organizations and initiatives;

  • Internship and training opportunities for students.

Principles of Cooperation and Partnership

The Intermarium Institute is open to collaboration with individuals and legal entities from Ukraine and other countries. We strive for open communication, constructive dialogue, and joint implementation of projects in science, analytics, education, and public activity.

The Institute supports a plurality of opinions in discussing socially significant issues but prioritizes professional, expert-based positions. We categorically oppose the dissemination of ideas or concepts that contradict the principles of state sovereignty and national security of Ukraine.

The Institute stands against political censorship, except in cases where such censorship is applied by authorized state bodies within the framework of current legislation to protect Ukraine's national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security.

The Institute does not cooperate with individuals or legal entities who are citizens or of origin from the Russian Federation and simultaneously have direct or indirect ties to the Russian authorities, support or disseminate ideas of Russian imperialism, or justify aggression against Ukraine or other states.

Additionally, the Institute does not engage with state structures, organizations, or individuals associated with the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Individuals or legal entities who, before, during, or after cooperation with the Institute, have committed actions damaging the reputation of the Institute or its representatives, demonstrated political bias, or acted contrary to the Institute's principles, are entered into a closed register of unreliable partners. Further interaction with them is excluded.
