The Security and Information Service of the Czech Republic revealed a scheme of Russian bribery of politicians from six European countries - Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Hungary - on the eve of the elections to the European Parliament, Czech and German mass media - Deník N and Der Spiegel - report.
The financing was carried out through the propaganda portal Voice of Europe, which is behind the state traitor of Ukraine and Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk and his henchman Artem Marchevskii, ex-producer of the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
The Czech-registered Voice of Europe, which appears to be a news outlet for right-wing populist politicians in Europe, including Germany's AfD («Alternative for Germany»), acted as a conduit through which money flowed to Russian sympathizers in cash and crypto. It is about several hundred thousand euros.
It is known that two politicians from the AfD, Maximilian Krach and Peter Bystron, traveled to Kyiv in 2021 with a «solidarity visit» to Viktor Medvedchuk, who was then under house arrest on charges of treason.
Sanctions were imposed on Voice of Europe, the site has been closed since Wednesday, March 27, its Twitter account with 182,000 subscribers stopped posting news, and the Telegram channel was renamed, but continued to operate.
