Presidential elections in the USA: which state will be decisive?

So, Trump or Biden? As they did 4 years ago, Americans will apparently do between these two politicians, even though the primaries are not over yet. According to the latest polls, Trump is marginally ahead of Biden. But one important point should be noted - this is the specificity of elections in the States.

As you know, in the USA there is an Electoral College. Each state has its own number of voters, depending on the total population. And it is this collegium that approves the election results after a general vote. In American history, there were many times when one of the candidates won a larger number of states, but in the end lost to the opponent due to the number of voters. The fact is that to win you need to win in the largest states by the number of voters, and this number is different in each state. The largest states for the number of electors are California with 55 electors, Texas with 38, Florida and New York with 29 electors each, and Pennsylvania and Illinois with an equal number of electors with 20 each.

California and New York, as a rule, vote for Democrats, Illinois - also, although with somewhat less probability. Texas - for Republicans, Florida, as a rule, the same. And from Pennsylvania, you can make unexpected adjustments to the final result of the choice.

If Biden holds the rating, Illinois is likely to be taken by him. Therefore, Pennsylvania remains the largest state in terms of the number of voters. If Biden wins there, we can say that he wins the election. Other states are important, of course, but the intrigue will obviously revolve around Pennsylvania. It can be a «golden share» for both candidates.
